Niagara Falls is definitely one of the places to visit if you are travelling on the US East Coast. It is impossible to describe the feeling when you're on the boat closing to the the falls, and you can feel the sheer power of the water just in front of you. It feels as if there was just a mountain of water pouring down on you. Check out the video!
The Niagara Falls was our third stop on our road trip on US East Coast. We enjoyed the nature so much that we decided to stay overnight. This was good choice as the Falls are lighted during the night, as you can see from the pictures. It was also fun visiting the Canadian side. This is a location you don't want to miss!

The capitol of USA! This was the second stop on our road
trip on US East coast. The weather continued to be super good with the
heat wave on, and the city bathed in sun.
There are plenty of motels and hotels to choose from while driving
in USA. However, when we arrived to Washington D.C. in the evening, we
found more or less the last hotel with rooms in the city. Every other
place seemed to be way beyond our price range, or booked. Even this
hotel had rates for the last free rooms three times higher than what we
used to pay for a typical room. It was tempting to just pay and stay in
the city, but we made the right choice when we decided to try our luck
and drive 15-20 minutes out of the city to see if any motels show
up.

New York, New York! During Summer of 2005 we did an ex tempore roadtrip
to East coast of USA. We stayed at hotel in Manhattan for a couple of
days and checked the main attractions. Manhattan is really nice place
to visit during summer, as there is a lot of things to see, and most
places you can simply walk to. We did take a metro ride as well, as you
really have not been to New York without this experience.
From New York we rented a car, and headed for Washington D.C.,
continuing to Niagara Falls and to the neighborhood of Boston. We also
visited small town of Salem, known for history of witches, a little bit
North from Boston. More on the roadtrip later on...

Boa Vista Orchids is one of the gardens located in the city of Funchal, Madeira. In addition to Boa Vista Orchids, we warmly recommend the Pregetter family's Jardim Orquidea, located just a walking distance from this garden.
Boa Vista, based on its own information, has thousands of different varieties of orchids. The garden has, similarly as Jardim Orquidea, a route through the "open" green house, where you can walk at your own leisure, study plants, and of course, take plenty of pictures to bring home as memory of the garden. Boa Vista does not sell baby orchids in bottle, but you can buy plants if you want. We have here some sample pictures from the orchid garden, and a short video clip as well.

Cairo, Egypt is one of those places one is not likely to visit on a holiday trip. The city is huge, the traffic exceeds more or less 10 times what the roads initially were planned for, and you definitely need guide to get around. I was in the city for two-three days on business in Autumn 2004. The schedule, as usual, was quite tight, but as one of the days had a little bit longer lunch break scheduled, we decided with some colleagues to take taxi near the pyramids and have look!
We ended up travelling on horse back to a good place to take pictures - something neither I or my colleagues had planned for. If you look closely at the picture, you will realise that my colleague was not really dressed for horseback riding. We had to persuade him a bit, but in the end, our journey started towards the pyramids.
