Smith-and-his-Workshop
Since I a couple of years ago stumbled upon the free open source 3D program called Blender, I have been eager to learn how to use it. The program is pretty intimidating to get started with though. I did a couple of false starts on it without producing anything worth mentioning.

During the Spring I started a hobby project to learn "again" the features of the Blender.

I did a couple of simpler scenes, before starting to work on a smith's workshop. Initially it was just the room, then came the fire and smoke, and finally, I put in the Smith himself. The smith is based on the Blenrig3/Zepam the second model by Juan Pablo Bouza, and having put some clothes on the smith, he was ready for some hard work :-)

The "Smith and his Workshop" is still Work In Progress, as I am still adding a bit "atmosphere" into the workshop, i.e., thick air. Everything has been done with animation in mind, so I will eventually also animate some small sequences.  I spotted "epic fantasy" topic on recent Blenderart magazine, and although the scene is still worh in progress, I submitted the figure, and got it into the gallery of Blenderart magazine #23. While not having this as target, I was pretty happy seeing that the picture made it to the magazine which I hold in high regard.
